In my years of professional experience as a family physician, I have realized that, from rural clinics to addiction centers to the emergency departments of tertiary hospitals, there is a common need. The need for a close, respectful and integral health care for people.
In Integrative Medicine I have found the way to meet this need and to contribute the best of my knowledge and experience as a physician. It is a medicine oriented to the restitution of health in an integral way, that is, not only addressing the physical aspects of the human being but also the emotional, psychological and even spiritual. To achieve this, Integrative Medicine focuses and gives special relevance to the relationship established between doctor and patient. The patient as the active protagonist of his or her health, the physician as a guide.
It prioritizes the use of the most respectful and less invasive interventions, integrating the scientific knowledge of conventional medicine with the use of natural and complementary therapies, always according to the possibilities and needs of the moment and the person. All this framed in respect for the unique idiosyncrasies of each of us. Integrating all available tools and putting them at the service of our health is the key to wellness.
