Hospital Universitari Dexeus, also known as the “Hospital of Knowledge”, is a leading centre in many of its specialities and is one of the first private university hospitals in Spain. Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona offers first-class medical and surgical care across all specialities, with particular strengths in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Paediatrics. The centre boasts a strong team of over 450 medical professionals and incorporates the latest functional and technological advances typical of the most cutting-edge medical centres. Today, it has established itself as a deeply patient-centred hospital, focused on the advancement of medicine, research and the training of postgraduates and MIR candidates. One example is its accreditation as a ‘Child-Friendly Hospital’, which the centre received in 2002, making it the first private hospital to achieve this certification. This is a Spanish initiative promoted by UNICEF, which focuses on the support, protection and promotion of breastfeeding.
